8. Melbourne Zoo

Take a walk on the wild side at the Melbourne Zoo, home to over 350 wildlife species living in naturalistic, botanical settings. Located near the central business district, the zoo features an Asian elephant exhibit, walking trails, an African rainforest, and a pygmy hippopotamus. Australian animals are also popular exhibits. The koalas, kangaroos and wombats regularly hold court, allowing visitors to admire them. Allow at least four hours to see the zoo in its entirety.   (© 10Best)
