MIDTOWN.   With more than 500 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish and insects from every part of the planet, this zoo is a great place for any animal lover to explore. Exhibits like Cat Country, Primate Canyon, Animals of the Night and Dragon's Lair fascinate visitors of all ages. Authentic habitats provide a perfect environment for learning more about animals of the wild. More than 50 endangered species live here, and displays teach visitors about environmentalism and animal protection. Seasonal children's rides, a cafe, a gift shop and a tram ride can also be expected.   (© 10Best)

Several renovations in the last few years have made this zoo state of the art. Don't miss the giant pandas, Denizens of the Deep South, Primate Canyon, Animals of the Night, or Northwest Passage. (from Southern Living)

GREAT ZOO
My husband is obsessed with zoos, so we check out every zoo in every city we visit. This one is definitely at the top of the list- The exhibits are set up so you have great, close-up views of the animals, and they have EVERY animal you can imagine, inclucing pandas. I highly recommend this zoo to everyone who visits Memphis

I have been to many zoos and aquariums, and this is among the best I've seen. The new Teton Trek Exhibit is impressive and as one who sees Yellowstone multiple times a year, I will say they have done a nice job capturing the essence of the wildlife. Other exhibits were fun and educational. Food was a bit more on the pricey side, but not more than you would find at most parks. As a zoo member at Hogle Zoo in Utah we received a 50% discount, just a thought for visitors.

The Memphis Zoo is a tad expensive reguarding food purchased at the cafe but the gift shop is reasonably priced and admissions are average. The attractions are fabulous and children as well as adults can learn a great deal from their exhibits while having fun.
