2. Beale Street Music Festival

The Buzz -- Kicking off the famous Memphis in May International Festival is the equally famous Beale Street Music Festival. Located at the end of Beale Street in Tom Lee Park, Memphians and visitors alike celebrate their love of music in all its forms. With over 60 acts on 4 stages, the entertainment never stops. Past performers have included such greats as Ray Charles, Van Morrison, The Allman Brothers Band, Beck and Bob Dylan. But the fun extends past the park. During the festival, Beale Street itself is packed out with partiers enjoying the sweet sounds of smaller name musicians in the clubs and vendors serving any type of food you could imagine.
