Exterior of Corky's in Memphis

Corky's was quite simply our hands-down favorite.

EAST MEMPHIS.   The original location of a now-regional chain, Corky's can ship to you if you're not near a franchise. However, when you're in Memphis, you won't mind waiting in line for the place's incredible pulled pork shoulder barbecue. Whether you choose ribs or a pork platter, you're sure to get a tasty, lip-smacking meal. Go early to avoid crowds, and don't forget to check out walls papered with customer endorsements.   (© 10Best)

Downhill
18 years ago the pulled pork was served at a post wedding function of mine in Memphis...since then...wow...it tried to franchise and downhill went the quality...sorry...it's just average at best.

Barbecue how it should be
I've eaten at Corky's 4 times, and live 10 hours away... On a 'foodie weekend', my girlfriend and I drove to Memphis from Northeast Ohio to take in Memphis' "best barbecue restaurants"... or at least their most famous. Corky's was the best ribs by far, esp. the dry rub ribs, w/ only Neely's interstate barbecue coming close. I know Rendezvous is renowned, but the next trip we'll be staying at the Poplar Ave. Hampton Inn just so we're closest to Corky's.
