10. Buns on the Run

MIDTOWN.   Not too greasy, not too heavy and strictly homemade! The food served in this wonderful little bakery and restaurant includes everything from French toast to cream cheese-stuffed crepes topped with fruit. Lunch includes soups, salads and sandwiches but also features meat 'n three plates that deliver scrumptious homestyle food you can't resist. Although the food is good, the place was crowded and wasn't very comfortable. The hostess was not friendly, and was not accommodating. I have eaten there a couple of times, but haven't returned since being turned away because of the time (between brunch and lunch?), and because of the tactless manner in which we were treated.
