6. John Dillinger Museum

HAMMOND.   Set inside the local welcome center, this hands-on museum chronicles the relatively short life and career of one of the 20th century's most infamous, charismatic criminals: bank robber and gangster John Dillinger. Visitors can follow Dillinger's Prohibition Era crime sprees, thanks to such unique exhibits as wax figures, news clippings, pants the gangster was wearing when the law finally caught up with him, and a chilling morgue scene.   (© 10Best)
