VALPARAISO. Located outside of Valpo on a centuries-old glacial moraine, the Pines proudly offers Northwest Indiana's only downhill ski slope. Its longest run stretches a quarter-mile, and the facility also boasts a challenging 151-foot vertical drop. In addition to downhill runs, the 36-acre park offers cross-country skiing and snowboarding trails, along with night skiing and four chairlifts. It's a great place to cut your teeth if you're just starting out.
