SOUTH BEACH.   The streamlined buildings that comprise the South Beach Art Deco district reflect the architecture of the '20s and '30s, when wealthy vacationers made Miami the vacation destination of choice. After its initial heyday, the area experienced a brief period of neglect. Reinvigorated in recent decades, the pastel-hued neighborhood is again in vogue and is among the best Miami attractions. The Art Deco Welcome Center provides a great introduction this South Beach tourist destination and carries maps of notable structures.
