CORAL GABLES.   The home of George E. Merrick, the founder of the City of Coral Gables, the Merrick House is a historic landmark and a popular Miami tourist destination. Acquired by the city in 1976, visitors can now tour the home, filled with the family’s possessions, including artwork and photographs, and furnished to appear as it did in the 1920s. This Coral Gables attraction, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, offers guests a unique glimpse into the city’s past.   (© 10Best)
