SOUTH BEACH.   One of the few true Irish pubs in Miami, the Playwright is tucked away on Washington Avenue in the trendy SoBe night club scene. The décor at this South Beach pub includes a mahogany bar imported from the Emerald Isle; cherry mahogany tables; photos of Joyce, Yeats, Wilde, and other great Irish penmen; and an 18th century pulpit and two spectacular stained glass windows reclaimed from an old church. Top place we found in Miami. Staff were great and customers wild! Large number of British and Irish expats both side of the bar with Jimmy, Gregg and Barry being Top Smooth Talking Bar Stewards and Amelia from Crouch End in North London providing the eye candy value on the customers side (pity she rides a push bike!)
