SOUTH BEACH. Reminiscent of the sleek Rat Pack-inspired lounges that began popping up in Manhattan in the 1950s and '60s, this trendy hotel bar is decorated in a suave mix of cozy wood accents, live tropical plants, cabana-style chairs, and subdued lighting. The skilled bartenders have gained a fair margin of fame for their magnificent martinis, and the lounge itself is reputed to be home to "Miami's Best Happy Hour." Live entertainment is featured most nights, including a few cabaret-style shows from time to time.

DOWNTOWN. Overlooking lovely Biscayne Bay, this is a casual bar with a relaxed, friendly ambience. Located in the Radisson Hotel, this bar attracts a diverse crowd of tourists, visiting business people and local professionals grabbing a drink after a tough day of work. Have a strawberry daiquiri or a single-malt scotch, watch the waves on the bay and unwind. Occasionally, a pianist serenades the crowd with barroom favorites. DOWNTOWN. Overlooking prestigious Biscayne Bay, the Mandarin Hotel's M-Bar boasts what is billed as Miami's largest selection of martinis – with over 250 varieties on the menu, this claim may just be the gospel truth. The subdued decor in the cozy lounge offers an interesting contrast to the eccentric Mandarin lobby, and fresh-rolled sushi is available for those wanting a bite to eat. Once 5pm rolls around, it's not uncommon to find the bar crowded with everybody from lawyers and bankers to jetsetters and South Beach hipsters.

SOUTH BEACH. Incomparable people-watching is a mainstay at the Rose Bar where, appropriately enough, pink-tinted lighting lets guests view each other through the proverbial rose-colored glasses. This unique touch flatters the appearance-conscious clientele – not that anyone in the dewy-faced bunch needs it! Lounge music sets the groove as international beauties and Hollywood types sip Cosmopolitans and mingle. If hunger rears its head, a fashionable sushi bar sits next door.

SOUTH BEACH. Skybar's glamorous, welcoming spaces act as a magnet for the unabashedly chic and famous. From the gorgeous, dramatic Redroom, activity spills out the back door, into a lush garden, then to a poolside lounge, and finally to the beach itself. Accented with handcrafted lanterns, vibrant textiles, rich beading, tropical foliage and imported furniture, the lounge is designed to seduce – and it succeeds brilliantly. You'll quite possibly lose all sense of time and place.

SOUTH BEACH. Like the hotel itself, the Bar at the Setai Hotel caters to a well-heeled clientele who sip nothing but the best single malts and the finest wines. The stylish and ever-so-sophisticated space is modern and sleek, without being harsh or intimidating, thanks to the abundant use of natural materials like stone and wood. The long, low bar and cozy leather chairs are ideal for lingering over cocktails and with an atmosphere this rare, you never know who you might rub elbows with. The Setai also has an equally classy lounge that offers light meals and an impressive caviar menu, and a gorgeous outdoor bar that's perfect for afternoon lounging or an evening rendezvous.

SOUTH BEACH. Set in the heart of the Art Deco District, just across from the Versace Mansion, this sexy hotel recreates the timeless look and feel of 1930s Paris. Stylish and confident, Hotel Victor offers several unique spaces for whiling away your time. Take for example ever-comfortable VUE, an outdoor ceviche bar that's filled with stylish wooden patio tables, wicker orbit chairs and ottomans. The bar also features a 20-foot video wall – if that doesn't captivate your attention, grab your glass and take in the view of Ocean Drive below – that's always a good show!

SOUTH BEACH. Gone is Fallabella Bar's once-beloved beauty shop theme – it's now been replaced by a sleeker, shinier scene that's conducive to quiet conversation over cocktails. Subtle, modern leather and wood furnishings accent the bar, where happy hour patrons and hotel guests linger over stylish drinks. An appealing choice for almost any occasion.
