AVENTURA.
This local hotspot has a reputation for serving some of South Florida's finest meals, thanks to Chef Allen Susser's creativity. The seasonal menu borrows from the classic American repertoire and adds exotic Caribbean flair. Seafood is a specialty, as seen in pan-roasted diver scallops with couscous and saffron tomato broth, pistachio-crusted black grouper, and Meyer lemon-roasted Florida shrimp. Colorful decor and solicitous service also contribute to an out-of-this-world dining experience.

We went to celebrate my wife's B-Day with friends and family. Party of 10. We arrived for our reservation and were pleasantly surprised with personally menus.
Unfortunately, the pleasantries ALL ended there.
The service by several of the staff there was HORRIBLE. To the point that it ruined the entire experience. As the host, I discretely informed the obtuse hostess to our experience with our wait staff early in the visit but absolutely nothing improved throughout the evening.
The staff definitely lived up to the stereotype that you receive worse service when the staff knows that the gratuity will be included on your bill.
We were unable to enjoy anything that should have been warm or hot because it was not brought out to us within a reasonable amount of time.
I made note of our horrendous service on the cc check and sure enough received a call from the manager that offered a half hearted apology.
Too late, the bad memory was already etched in.
NOTE: If you'd like an overpriced dining experience with lousy service and mediocre food, Chef Allen's is the place for you.

Is everyone crazy to list this restaurant as number 1??????? The food is so mediocre and the ambiance flat out sucks. I'm an expereinced cook who can offer so much more than this restaurant offered me last week. I had roasted duck quessedillas that lacked in flavor and the duck was way over cooked, I also had the pumpkin ravioli(since it is pumpkin season) and it was probably the worst pumpkin ravioli I've ever had, and I always love this dish. It was completely under seasoned and the filling was minimum and just plain. I would not eat here again and I am very dissapointed that this restaurant was ranked one of the best. shame shame shame miami

I picked this place for two reasons; it was close to our hotel and was highly rated. I was still pleasantly surprised by our dinner here. The location(in a strip mall) belies the beauty and fantastic meals to come once inside. Rob, our waiter was very gracious and service was overall quite good. We did have to ask for refills of our drinks and bread was not offered until after our main course but this was of no consequnce as the food was unbelievably good. We started with a small mushroom and goat cheese in phyllo with balsalmic that was quite good. My wife had the crab cake and I had the foie both of which were excellent(I enjoyed the roasted figs with the foie). For main courses we had the grouper which was phenomenal and the veal chop special with the best risotto I've ever tasted. We followed this with the strawberry Grand Marnier souffle. Overall an excellent dining experience and surprisingly affordable. The tasting menu was only $49 without wine service and I felt the portion sizes were more than generous. Overall an excellent experience and highly recommended.
