9. Transporter Bridge Visitor Centre

This new facility, a top draw in the area, commemorates Middlesbrough's industrial heritage and showcases the world famous Transporter Bridge. Interactive displays allow you to take a closer look at how the area developed. Then, walk outside and view the bridge, which was originally designed to allow tall ships to pass beneath it. The central section of the bridge moves across the River Tees, transporting cars and pedestrians. This is the only working bridge of its kind in England.   (© 10Best)
