   EDITOR REVIEW:

From its origins as an artists' society, through numerous expansions which have included the 1957 Eero Saarinen designed building and several subsequent additions and refurbishments, the Milwaukee Art Museum has dramatically increased both its collections and its programming. Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava designed the most recent expansion, which unified the various buildings and wings into a larger, more cohesive modern complex. Indeed, the building is just as impressive as its contents. Ahhh, the contents. With ancient Greek artifacts, medieval and renaissance paintings and textiles, modern American and European sculpture, paintings, and video installments, plus folk art from around the world, this is truly a premier collection.

Stop by the Milwaukee Art Museum at opening time, noon, or closing time to see the moving brise soleil (sunbreak) in action. (from Cooking Light)
