Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory (The Domes)

DOWNTOWN. Nicknamed "The Domes" after the construction of three 85- foot high, dome-shaped glass greenhouses, Mitchell Park Conservatory offers visitors a look at the flora that thrive in different climates. The Arid Dome features desert plants from around the world, and the variety of cacti and succulents is astounding. The Tropical Dome features a Tropical Rainforest environment, complete with 1200 varieties of plants, towering palms, birds, and even iguanas. The Floral Show Dome has changing exhibits, each with a specific theme, such as US regional gardens, a model railroad garden, and a special holiday show in December.
