The Buzz -- You missed it in 1969, so come out to the beautiful Genesee Theatre in Waukegan, July 31st at 7pm to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the original Woodstock Music Festival. These are not tribute bands but original bands who played Woodstock in 1969, getting together in their only Chicagoland appearance! They will play the same songs they did at the monumental music festival 40 years ago. Jefferson Starship performs the music of Jefferson Airplane, blues-rock greats-Canned Heat, Big Brother and The Holding Company performing the music of Janis Joplin, Quicksilver Messenger Service, the Grateful Dead's keyboad player- Tom Constanten, and all hosted by Country Joe McDonald who MC'ed at the original Woodstock. Country Joe will play some of his original Woodstock songs too! A full 4 hours of live classic rock from the original bands.
