White linens, chandeliers, arched windows, and Italian murals have made this is a favorite special occasion restaurant. The Italian menu features dishes from many regions of the country. Start with asparagi griglia, grilled asparagus with tomatoes, goat cheese and lemony dressing. Menu highlights include tagliatelle verdi al ragu (spinach pasta, veal ragu and fresh basil), and veal scallopine layered with sage and prosciutto. Also popular is mascarpone and ricotta stuffed ravioli with caramelized onions, toasted hazelnuts and sage, in brown butter. Osteria is without a doubt the finest dining experience in Milwaukee, and is on par with anything I have experienced in New York, Toronto or Chicago.
