THIRD WARD DISTRICT.   Located just a few blocks from the Theater Center, this popular French café serves authentic cuisine, with some Italian and American influences. The atmosphere is comfortable, with three dining areas and a bar. Menu favorites include the Croque Monsieur sandwich, a flatbread pizza topped with spinach, tomato, garlic and fontina, and steak frites with aioli. The dessert menu is worth a look – try the crème brûlée, cannoli, or splurge on profiteroles.
