UPTOWN.
Tourists and high-school hipsters alike find this 1877 Victorian-style Minneapolis coffee shop charming and romantic. Find a spot on the shaded patio or veranda and sip your favorite blend as you watch the uptown Minneapolis passersby on Hennepin Avenue. Coffee and a sunny patio aren’t the only perks here, however. Drop into the Twin Cities' oldest coffeehouse for fresh sandwiches, creamy cheesecake, irresistible fudge cake and a variety of original Minneapolis dessert.

I have been a regular at Uncommon Grounds for just short of four years. The employees are very helpful and friendly. There have been some changes to their menu (all good!) and they have added a second level (smoking)...The best drink in the house would have to be their Homemade Chai Tea (Delicious!). For food, they have: Fudge Cake, Turtle Cheese Cake, Biscotti, and a variety of large sandwiches (big enough to share). I give it the highest score possible!!

Well the downstairs was completely dark, so that's basically for people who are on dates... the upstairs had people playing board games, reading books, and allowed smoking. Great chai tea though!

Even though Minneapolis is about a 10 hour drive away from me here in Lee's Summit, Missouri, my sister and I always make the trip up at least a couple times a year. We go up for several reasons but one of the main ones is Uncommon Grounds. Honestly! We have to get our Vietnamese and Chai fixes..it's a must. I have been to many coffeehouses/shops but not one can even compare to Uncommon Grounds.
