DOWNTOWN. Built by Judge John Bragg in 1855, this antebellum mansion is one of Mobile's most beautiful examples of 19th-century Classical Revival architecture, its grand white facade nestled among towering oak trees off Springhill Avenue. One of the more popular tourist attractions in town (and one of the most photographed), Bragg-Mitchell is open for tours, allowing visitors to view rooms furnished with period antiques that look much as they did during the mansion's heyday. The property may be rented for weddings and other special events.
