7. Mobile Museum of Art

DOWNTOWN.   One of the centerpieces of Mobile's arts and culture landscape, the Museum of Art houses permanent exhibits of historical, local, and regional significance. Indeed, in well-lit galleries, patrons find paintings, sculpture, furniture, and decorative arts of American, Asian, and European origins. The museum also hosts temporary exhibits each year, including the Haverty International Glass Collection, armor on loan from the Higgins Armory Museum, and "Women of Our Time," a photographic exhibition from the National Portrait Gallery and the Smithsonian.   (© 10Best)
