FAIRHOPE. Started in 1990, the Weeks Bay Reserve Foundation makes a concerted effort to protect the natural beauty of Baldwin County's pristine coastal areas. In the region is a wide array of wildlife that includes alligator, box turtle, fox, bobcat, armadillo, blue crab, and spotted sea trout. Nature-lovers can truly experience the reserve at the Weeks Bay Interpretive Center, located between Fairhope and Foley. Here, guests are exposed to a number of interactive exhibits and specimen collections. The center also maintains a network of hiking trails and an elevated boardwalk system that affords breathtaking views of bay and marshes.
