DOWNTOWN.   One of the area's more historic residences, this beautiful Italianate townhome dates from the 1860s and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Among its significant features are a cast iron facade that artistically renders the four seasons; hand-carved mantels; ornate brass chandeliers with crenallated globes; and a formal flower garden that explodes in color each spring. Each room features period antiques, and, with true Southern charm, the Daughters of the American Revolution provide guests with complimentary tea and cookies. Admission charged.   (© 10Best)

The DAR ladies were very hospitable and they have a great collection. They serve tea. I think that this house is a must to visit, as it is a brick Italianate townhouse 1860's. Also one should visit Oakleigh Historic Complex to see 1830's Greek Revival home & 1850's middle class Creole cottage. Recently, they added a Mardi Gras Cottage.
