Colonial Mall Bel Air is the second best regional shopping venue in South Alabama. Why second best? Because just a short drive across beautiful Mobile Bay into the suburbs of the Eastern Shore will take you to the 540,000 square foot lifestyle center known as Eastern Shore Centre. This open-air mall features a predominantly upscale roster of retailers, including Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma and The Sharper Image. Bel Air Mall is no slouhch either, with stores such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Strausburg Children and Charlotte Russe. However, if you don't mind traveling a bit, Eastern Shore Centre provides a higher quality shopping experince than the enclosed Colonial Mall Bel Air.

I have lived in Mobile for 13 years, and the Bel Air Mall has undergone a lot of changes. In reference to the previous review, the mall used to have a food court. It was torn down and replaced by a Target store because the food court almost never had any business, it was always empty and quiet. It needed to be replaced by something that would make money and be more energetic for the people. Bel Air Mall is a wonderful place to shop, especially during the Christmas season.

Compared to malls I've been to in other cities of about the same size, this mall is small and lacks anything special. It's one floor (except for the large department stores), there's no food court, and parts of it seem unplanned. Target is one of the large anchor stores now and you can enter it from the parking lot. But to get there from inside the mall, you have to walk through Penney's or Parisian's and then go down a long empty corridor. The traffic around the mall is horrible sometimes since Mobile decided to plant this mall right across the road from another large shopping center, and there's no good quick way to get from one to the other. I live here and even though I like this mall well enough, I love visiting malls in other cities because they really sparkle in comparison.

It has the best selection of stores around, especially when it comes to clothing for teenagers. (Hot Topic, Hollister, PacSun, Abercrombie, Abercrombie & Fitch, Aeropostale, American Eagle, etc.) The only bad thing is that it needs more places to eat.

This mall is way to small, it doesn’t even have a food court. How ridiculous is that? They need more/better stores and a food court.. Then it would be worth mentioning.

It’s a great mall for all ages and ethnics. You can get business done by going to the post office and have fun by going to the arcade.
