 EDITOR REVIEW: LE CLAIRE. Long ago, a giant elm tree stood on the LeClaire side of the Mississippi River and provided shade for river pilots while they waited for the next boat to come through the area. Today, the tree no longer stands, but its name lives on thanks to D. R. Peterson's Green Tree Emporium & Design Studio. This neat little shop, located in the historic town of LeClaire, carries an assortment of unique items, ranging from antiquarian books and china to linens and collectibles.
