Tidal Bore

A marvelous and powerful force, the waters of the Petitcodiac River roll upstream in one gigantic wave twice a day due to the influence of the nearby Bay of Fundy tides. After the Bore, the Petitcodiac River's waters can rise to 7.5 meters (25 feet). Those interested in this spectacle can view it from numerous spots in and around Moncton, including spots in Dieppe and Riverview. Upon arriving in Moncton, call the Tourist Information Centre at 506-853-3590 for directions to these prime viewing locations.
