For an entertaining evening, attend a show at Moncton's treasured Capitol Theatre. It dates back to 1922 and has been lovingly restored to its original glory. The lovely hall draws guests to view outstanding performances of theatre, music and dance in a setting replete with stunning murals, gold leaf and intricate stenciling. The auditorium holds 800 seats and features a balcony and private meeting rooms as well. The theatre is one of only eight such restored theatres in all of Canada, giving Moncton proper bragging rights.

Known by locals as simply, "the Cosmo," this hip dance club draws an energetic crowd to its variety of theme nights, from Saturday's Ladies night to Sunday's house parties and Wednesday's student nights. DJ's keep the night young by mixing a variety of music genres, including alternative, rock, hip hop, urban and dance. This club also features live jazz music on Friday nights. A small menu is available and the bar staff stands ready to pour your favorite drink.

Doc's is the perfect place to relax after a long day of work or sightseeing. A convivial atmosphere pervades and the eats and drinks are superb. The menu is quite generous, filled with appetizers, pizzas, pasta and a surprising list of fresh salads, soups and sandwiches. House specialties include the tantalizing Doc's Dinosaur Wings and Doc's Rock Salt Ribs. Breakfast specials are served on Saturday and Sunday mornings and weekdays feature a different daily lunch special. On tap and bottled beers accompany a large list of cocktails, red and white wines, wine coolers and shots. Live music, karaoke and acoustic open mic events keep things lively.

Located downtown, Kramer's bills itself as Moncton's only Speakeasy and offers a trendy atmosphere and live music. Friday nights feature live jazz music and Saturdays bring out the best of local musicians. Martinis are the center of attention on Thursdays as the bartenders expertly mix exotic concoctions to the delight of eager fans. This club features a cozy cobblestone patio with a barbeque pit that's perfect for hanging out during cooperative weather.

One of Moncton's hottest party spots, Oxygen draws crowds night after night. A sea of hip and trendy clubbers greets new arrivals, and outside of the people watching, dancing is the main draw here. Wednesday nights are student nights and Saturdays favor the ladies. A mix of live music, special shows and expert DJ mixes continues to keep Oxygen top of mind among the Moncton party set.

Located in one of downtown's historic buildings, Sasha's is the ideal stop for an evening cocktail and tapas. Trendy yet casual, this establishment offers a wealth of options. In addition to over 100 martinis and cocktails, the drink menu also features draft beer and wine. Try the Sour Apple or Jolly Rancher martini along with any number of the 30 different tapas selections available. Thursday nights are martini nights and feature live music, while Saturdays showcase live jazz musicians.

Voodoo has earned a reputation for being one of the sexiest gathering spots in the city. Hot singles gather here to people watch, dance and drink well-mixed cocktails. Tuesdays are "Nothing To Do" Tuesdays, Fridays are "No Frills" Fridays and Saturdays are "Cocktail Club" nights.
