Interesting Facts

  1. Please don't feed the animals! Mont-Tremblant Park is home to a rich collection of wildlife, including black bears, wolves, moose, beavers, deer, foxes, feral cats and bald eagles. It's not uncommon to encounter one or more of these natives when hiking through the park, so be sure to keep your eyes open and be alert at all times.
  2. If you need the royal treatment, the Tremblant area won't let you down. The Fairmont's Amerispa offers a variety of relaxation therapies, and the Nordic-style Scandinave Spa lets guests take year-round dips in the Rivière du Diable.
  3. If you fancy yourself a connoisseur of fine cuisine, wait until you sample the delightful Québec gastronomy, a unique hybrid of wild game (like venison, caribou, mountain trout and rabbit) and traditional French sauces and techniques.
  4. Towering more than 3000 feet, Mont-Tremblant offers some of eastern North America's finest downhill skiing. Within its 600-plus acres, the mountain boasts 9 fully operational lifts and 92 ski runs, including pulse-pounding slopes like Verige, a 220-plus meter drop, and Dynamite, which drops an "explosive" 245-meters.
  5. What, exactly, is the Village of Mont-Tremblant? In 2000, the communities of Mont-Tremblant, Lac-Tremblant-Nord and St-Jovite joined together to form a new, 150-square-mile tourist-oriented territory that includes countless hotels, golf courses, restaurants, shopping districts and spas. This territory, called the Ville de Mont-Tremblant, stands as one of eastern North America's year-round resort areas.
  6. Mont-Tremblant Park (1894) is Québec's oldest and largest protected provincial area. Presided over by the towering "Trembling Mountain," the park includes 500 lakes and more than 900 square miles of breathtaking mountainous terrain, whose network of trails offers hikers views of dramatic waterfalls, tranquil lakes and peaceful valleys.
  7. Know your way around? The Mont-Tremblant Resort Village is actually a unique collaboration among some of the area's finest resort hotels. When you're wandering through the streets, notice the fascinating architecture and brightly-hued rooftops, each reminiscent of a charming Alpine village. The shops and eateries in the village are located in different complexes named after key historical figures – Le Deslauriers, Le Johannsen and Le St-Bernard – as well as the quaint Vieux-Tremblant sector, where stand the Village's oldest buildings.
  8. A 200-km trail running between the village of St-Jérôme and Mt-Laurier, the popular Linear Park boasts a fascinating history. Once, the trail was called the P'tit Train du Nord train line and served as southern Québec's primary link to this mountain haven. After nearly 70 years, the train service was discontinued in the early 1980s. Today, the trail is a-bustle every season with hikers, cyclists, cross-country skiers and even snowmobilers.
  9. Have golf, will travel. Within easy "driving" distance of the Mont-Tremblant Resort Village are four championship-caliber courses, each begging to be tackled. If you're willing to accept the challenge, make sure to dust off the old bag o' tricks, or you'll be in for a long day.
  10. From an observation tower atop the Sommet-Tremblant, guests can take in a glorious panorama of the Laurentide Mountains, including Lakes Tremblant, Mercier and Ouimet to the south and the idyllic Parc du Mont-Tremblant to the north. In the late summer, resort guests can participate in the popular "Tremblant Sous les Étoiles," a star-gazer's dream highlighted by a beautiful meteor shower.
