4. Église Sainte-Dévote (Church of Sainte Dévote)

LA CONDAMINE.   According to tradition and medieval legend, Dévote, the patron saint of the Principality, was martyred in Corsica early in the 4th century. The small boat in which her body was placed was caught in a storm at sea and ran aground in Monaco. This church, built centuries later near that site, honors the saint and her protection of Monaco, the sovereign family and seamen.   (© 10Best)
