Built in 1964 to house Aimé and Marguerite Maeght's enormous art collection. The museum and gardens are both breathtaking, with modern art hiding around every corner. Highlights include Chagall mosaics, Giacometti figures in the courtyard and a Miró garden maze. On top of the permanent collection, temporary exhibitions move in and out, with locals eagerly awaiting the annual summer show. Make a day of it and stop for a once-in-a-lifetime lunch at the famous Colombe d'Or, once a hangout for the likes of Picasso and Modigliani.
