5. Eze-Village |
|
At 400 meters above sea level, the medieval hilltop village of Eze is a prized stop on any Riviera itinerary. Once home to Nietzsche but now frequented by the likes of Bono, Eze is an incredibly popular day trip; try to time your visit on a weekday, or out of season. Inhabited since 2000 BC, the pedestrian town is constructed entirely of pale stone. Quaint cafés and souvenir shops line the narrow streets, and the church gardens offer unbeatable views up and down the coast. Unreachable by train, you can take the number 112 bus from Monaco.
