The city's earliest public structure, dating back to 1804, Iglesia Matriz is located near the Plaza Constitucion (also known as the Plaza Matriz). Visitors are invited to tour the church as it contains the remains of some of the country's notable politicians and religious leaders. Upon leaving, be sure to notice the domed bell towers that grace the top of the building.
