6. Punta Carretas Shopping Center

Fashionable and upscale, this popular shopping mall has something for every shopper. Interestingly enough, the mall was once a jail. Although it's been trendily converted, it still holds shoppers captive with three stories of over 200 shops and restaurants and a spacious interior that's flooded with light from soaring skylights.
