This steakhouse, a favorite of business types in the downtown area, is solid in both décor and cuisine. The interior evokes thoughts of an Old World wine cellar and is full of polished woodwork and arched windows, along with an exhibition kitchen crowned with a copper exhaust hood. The lovely space complements the cuisine, which focuses on USDA prime beef, dry aged for up to five weeks. A variety of cuts are available, including their well-known ribeye, or you may choose from lobster, veal, prime rib, lamb and fresh fish. A selection of robust wines accompanies the hearty meals, and you'll also find live jazz and terrace dining. The Montréal Tea Room is an exclusive private dining and conference facility.   (© 10Best)

Great steak, arrogant service, and ludicrous wine prices
Yes, the steaks dry-aging in the window are enticing, and the steak is pretty good. The problem is, you have to eat it at Le Queue de Cheval. The staff condescended to us from the word go, pushed us toward their absurdly overpriced wine, rushed us through our courses, never brought dessert, and dumped the check on us without a word about is we would like anything else. I would eat at La Belle Province for the rest of my life before ever giving them another dollar.

Very disappointing-more like a pricier version of The Keg only service was not as attentive as the Keg. Mains arrived while we were still eating our apps and wine had still not arrived! Mains were left on a side table while we finished our apps! $600 for 2...

Everyone in Montreal has a Queue de Cheval sticker-shock story. Eight friends and I helped build the place last year when visiting for the Grand Prix weekend. Over $300 per person. And this wasn't even going nuts on wine or drinks. Just a plain ole rip. The wait staff "enabled" our party suggesting the caviar platter without mentioning the $500 price. Have to admit they throw up a fine piece of meat, but I've had the equal for less than half the price at Mortons. Only, and I mean only, on someone else's dollar.
