Great steak, arrogant service, and ludicrous wine prices
Yes, the steaks dry-aging in the window are enticing, and the steak is pretty good. The problem is, you have to eat it at Le Queue de Cheval. The staff condescended to us from the word go, pushed us toward their absurdly overpriced wine, rushed us through our courses, never brought dessert, and dumped the check on us without a word about is we would like anything else. I would eat at La Belle Province for the rest of my life before ever giving them another dollar.

Very disappointing-more like a pricier version of The Keg only service was not as attentive as the Keg. Mains arrived while we were still eating our apps and wine had still not arrived! Mains were left on a side table while we finished our apps! $600 for 2...

Everyone in Montreal has a Queue de Cheval sticker-shock story. Eight friends and I helped build the place last year when visiting for the Grand Prix weekend. Over $300 per person. And this wasn't even going nuts on wine or drinks. Just a plain ole rip. The wait staff "enabled" our party suggesting the caviar platter without mentioning the $500 price. Have to admit they throw up a fine piece of meat, but I've had the equal for less than half the price at Mortons.
Only, and I mean only, on someone else's dollar.

We were guests, but we found Queue de Cheval to be far over priced. Waiting staff not at all flexible in meeting client's needs for excluding certain food items, even when the client was very willing to pay for the entire food item... (no substitutions permitted... no exclusions permitted). American tourists might be duped into paying for this kind of service only because of the US/Canadian exchange rate and ignorance of the fact that not all restaurants in Montreal operate like this. Sorry, but I will take my business guests and American visitors anywhere else but here!

A very attractive restaurant with terrific food, extremely professional service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Don't miss the assorted wild mushroom side dish, which melts in your mouth like butter. My only complaint has to do with some of the prices. We paid about what we expected for the entrees, appetizer, and non-alcoholic beverages. However, what they charged for the wine, dessert, and the $25 lobster salad (which featured very little lobster) was way out of line even for an upscale eatery such as this.

This is the most overpriced restaurant experience I have ever had. Though the meat was excellent their prices were only exceeded by those listed on the wine list. Additionally my appetizer of oysters on the half shell contained shell fragments in almost all 12. I mentioned this to a manager that asked me how my dinner was and when I informed him of the oysters he said their oyster preparers were very experienced and walked away. Great customer care. I will never return or recommend this restaurant to anyone.
The restaurant certainly has the ability to provide very good food however the quality does not justify the sky high prices.
