8. Raza

A relative newcomer on Montréal's dining scene, Raza has stirred up all sorts of passionate raves for its incredible Nuevo Latino cuisine. Monochromatic and spare, the décor helps the restaurant bypass the usual effusive atmosphere of other Mexican and South American eateries. The menu changes frequently, but you're likely to find amazing dishes such as foie gras empanadas, prosciutto-wrapped quail with guava barbecue sauce, and scallops with Peruvian potato salad.
