Outremont is a middle-upper class French-speaking area, located northeast of Mont-Royal, known for its restaurants and upscale boutiques. It is a quiet neighborhood with no actual bars or dance clubs. Most residents go downtown or to Mile End to party. Bernard Street offers visitors interesting walking tours, while Laurier Street is well known for shopping. The main attractions are the beautiful parks and homes. Bordered by Parc Avenue to the east, Darlington Street to the west, Mount Royal to the south, and Van Horne to the north.   (© 10Best)

Outremont holds a lifetime of memories for me. Joyce Park, with it's playground, tennis courts and gardens, Pratt Park with it's lake and meandering streams and small bridges, fantastic turn-of-the-century homes and mansions, ice-cream in the summertime at Robil's (now le Bilbouquet) on Bernard Ave., and pizza from Pendeli's after school, among other things! When you go to Outremont, you forget the rest of the world. You step into another time and place. And you never want to leave...
