5. Oktoberfest

The Buzz -- Held between mid September and the first Sunday on October, this is Germany's most famous festival and one of the best-known annual events in the world. Beer tastings, parties, and revelry abound as thousands pack large "tents" along Theresienwiese to celebrate the hops. Each tent has an individual atmosphere and serves a different beer, and despite the vast seating capacity (each seats 1000 to 10,000 people inside, several hundred more outside), you'll want to arrive early because if you want to drink beer you have to have a seat, and seats go fast.
