CITY CENTER - ALTSTADT.
This popular Japanese eatery is considered by many to be one of the best in the city, with a good selection of tempura and sushi. Great service and a nice atmosphere make this a definite place to try. For new sushi fans, the prix fixe menus are a good option. Also serves up good lunches that are perfect for a business meeting or shopping break. Additional locations at Ehrengutstrasse 27 and Frauenstrasse 18. U/S-BAHN: Marienplatz

The term bad service usually means a lack of attention or something that the waiter's didn't do i.e. passive bad service. Here we need to make a distinction. The service at Shoya is actively bad. It's what the staff do, rather than what they don't do that is so offensive.
As soon as you have sat down, they are harassing and cajoling you to order. Then, once you have finished eating they make it reasonably clear they want you out of there so they can shove the next lot through. Now if this place where in any way exceptional, I might be forced to put up with it but in fact, the food and atmosphere are truly shopping-mall average and anyone who thinks otherwise, has not experienced good Japanese food.
The one thing that keeps this place going is it's location, smack in the centre of Munich's tourist epicentre, directly opposite the Hofbrauhaus.
