CITY CENTER - ALTSTADT. Home of renowned chef Karl Ederer, this restaurant serves up a great selection of fish and lamb dishes and traditional German entrées. It is a perfect stop for a business dinner or romantic night out. The restaurant has three different menus for lunch and dinner and has delicious vegetarian options. Try the Bavarian forest lamb or chicken with mushrooms. A good drink menu and wonderful service add to the experience.

CITY CENTER - ALTSTADT. Located in the city's oldest inn and dating from the mid 15th century, this excellent dining spot serves up an array of traditional German and Bavarian dishes. The roasted pig is said to be a must as well as the regional sausage and meat dishes. The delightful service and good beer menu make an all-around great place for a quick bite or a nice dinner.

HAIDHAUSEN - BOGENHAUSEN. Home of renowned chef Fritz Schilling, who serves up an array of fabulous Bavarian and German fare on the top floor of the Gerd Kafer department store. This is considered one of the best deli meals available in the city. Choose from a traditional menu of meats and sausages as well as from a good beer selection. The first-rate service adds to the pleasurable experience.

CITY CENTER - ALTSTADT. This is the perfect casual German dining hall. It is not overcrowded like some of the larger beer halls in the city, but is a quiet cellar restaurant offering traditional fare off the beaten path. The spare ribs are delicious but be prepared to wait 30 minutes for the preparation. The gamut of Wurst is served along with your beer of choice. A popular late-night hangout, so it may be difficult to find seating on the weekends. Lamms is the place to go after the bars close if you still want to drink and eat.

Sample from the traditional Bavarian menu or try the delicious International cuisine in a separate restaurant upstairs. The restaurant is divided into several dining rooms with different styles. For newcomers, the Bavarian Plate offers a sampling of local fare that is delicious and filling. Also offers a good beer and drink menu.
