ISARVORSTADT.   Named after the Makassar Strait, which runs between Borneo and Sulawesi in Indonesia and was a popular passageway for trading ships, allowing easy access to the rich island spices. French Creole is the primary focus. Off the beaten path, but well worth the visit. Brad Pitt made this his favorite hangout when in town.   (© 10Best)
