4. Oliver's Lodge

We just visited Oliver's Lodge on 4th of July. The service was okay. The food, with the exception of the shrimp spread and hushpuppies, was warmed up frozen food. There was very little taste. The shrimp tasted like they have freezer burn and the crab cake had no flavor what so ever. Oliver's Lodge was an exceptional place to eat in the past, but not so now.

Oliver's is a location my family has gone to over the past 50 years, both as a child, now a parent. The location on the water front is second to none in the area. The overall feel of the Lodge has changed in the past couple years as some (unfortunate repairs were made) upgrading the simple lodge to compete with it's newere competitiors. The food remains very good, but is shooting for the more upscale. Don't loss sight of the past!

Great Food! Great location! What a job the new owners have done to this old location! The best of the new with old established Murrells Inlet charm.
