Flo moved to Myrtle Beach from her native New Orleans in 1972, and she's been serving up fabulous Cajun treats here ever since. The fun and funky ambience is notable for the hats that adorn every inch of available ceiling and wall space, most of them donated by faithful fans. The menu is authentic Cajun, including blackened fish, gumbo, red beans and rice, po' boys, gator stew (yes, it's real alligator), and many other craving-good bayou concoctions that you'll wish you could get in your own hometown. There's also a raw bar if you're inclined to slurping down some oysters, and kids have their own special menu, assuring Flo's a solid future with lots of repeat business.

We LOVE this place. The food is excellent. Try the fried green tomatoes. Plus the ambiance is great. A really relaxed place where you can have a pretty raucous time (mostly later at night) or sit with the whole family and not be worried that you're in a "dive". We go there every summer whenever we can get to the beach. If you are a beer drinker/seafood lover, do yourself a favor and try an oyster shooter. It's basically an oyster in a shot glass of beer with some "Flo's Green Sauce" in it. EXCELLENT. Pick up a bottle of green sauce and take it home with you too. I know my review sounds like I must own this place...wish I did. We just really love it and can't wait to get back. It was remodeled over the winter, so it's probably better than ever now.

This place is such a "wreck" it produces the desired effect---you'll never find friendlier people anywhere, and the Nawlins style beads they put around your neck upon entering just feeds the feeling!! Sit outside on the deck and enjoy the ambiance of a bayou type setting---a very nice experience!!
