The Cappella Sansevero was built in 1590 and decorated for Raimondo di Sangro, prince of Sansevero. The majestic interior of this chapel is adorned with ornate frescoes and sculptures. The most outstanding sculpture is Giuseppe Sammartino's Veiled Christ, depicting the lifeless body of Christ beneath a transparent veil after the crucifixion. This is a MUST SEE. The Veiled Christ is the most beautiful sculpture I have ever seen. Unbelievable is the effect of the veil over Christ. It is always a stop with all our guests on the tours of Naples. Don't miss the magnificent Cappella Sansevero.
