Il Duomo was built from 1272-1315. This amazing chapel has unfortunately lost most of its original Gothic structure, now exhibiting more of a Neo-Gothic style. Within its walls stands Christianity's first basilica, dating back to the fourth century, the Basilica of St. Restituta. Also, the Chapel of San Gennaro can be accessed through the basilica. Within the chapel, there are two vials of St. Gennaro's blood, said to liquefy at certain times of the year.
