The Buzz -- This ballet exposes students to the art of dance in an abstract form. Students will learn to look at a non-story ballet for the quality of its movement, the feelings that are conveyed, and the use of music as it relates to the theme of the piece. The catchy jazz score is translated visually through the choreography of Artistic Director Paul Vasterling. Does Click refer to the snappy rhythms of the music or the subtle cliques of personalities represented? Maybe it’s both! There are no wrong answers, since this abstract ballet allows each audience member to experience their own personal connection to the underlying theme of school life set to infectious music.
