4. Mambu

WEST END AVENUE.   Take a trip around the world when you eat at Mambu. The cuisine is truly international, with dishes like Gyoza shrimp dumplings, crispy lobster ravioli, Caribbean roast chicken and seared duck breast all found on the same menu. The restaurant is located in an old blue house that is separated into four distinct dining sections, each with its own funky decor. Creative dishes with international influences dominate the menu here, with its strong Asian leanings. The ambience is fun and quirky, with lampshades made from X-ray film and strings of pineapple lights throughout the restaurant, which is in a lovely old house. I heard a lot of advertisements for this restaurant so one night we stopped in to have dinner. I thought the service was very good but that is about the nicest thing I can say about my experience. The food was over priced and not very good. :(
