SYLVAN PARK. This fun bistro is a favorite of both locals and visitors. DOWNTOWN. Serving American-Continental cuisine, the dark-paneled Capitol Grille is located on the lower level of the Hermitage Hotel. This downtown restaurant is a favorite among professionals and locals for business lunches and pre-theater. Breakfast is also a favorite, with offerings such as the Eggs Benedict "Commander Style;" The Nashvillian with two eggs, ham, grits, and biscuits and gravy; and the Steak and Eggs. Lunch features sandwiches such as the "Rocky Mountain" Bison Brisket BBQ and entrees like the Roasted Ashley Farms Organic Chicken. Dinner entrees include Sous Vide Bell and Evans Chicken, Ocean Trout, and Prime Strip Loin.

The restaurant's innovative head chef serves an ever-changing menu of steak, pasta and vegetarian dishes. Be sure to start your meal off with one of their excellent seafood appetizers – the scallops are a must! Great wine list with over 50 served by-the-glass. By the way, keep your eyes peeled for your favorite country singer, because Sunset Grill is pretty high on their lists too.

MUSIC ROW. Due to its close proximity to Vanderbilt University, this contemporary restaurant enjoys the patronage of everybody from students and faculty to local business types and socialites. The international menu features such delicious entrées as lobster flapjacks, ostrich, yucca empanada and Cajun veal chops. The wine and beer lists reflect the eclecticism of the menu, both offering selections from around the world. In the warmer months, al fresco dining is available. Keep in mind, this place tends to get packed quickly, especially on the weekends.
