SYLVAN PARK. This fun bistro is a favorite of both locals and visitors. Diners enjoy mains such as baked pasta rounds, duck breast lacquered with pomegranate and honey, and jumbo scallops with pasta-stuffed zucchini. The wine list serves to complement the International menu, while the colorful paintings on the walls create a cheery atmosphere.

WEST END AVENUE. Winning almost every local newspaper award for dining, this restaurant expertly blends Mediterranean flavors to create unique dishes. Perfect for an intimate dinner with just a few people, Zola's interior features Mediterranean art and decor with the largest indoor mural in Nashville. The fresh seafood and high-quality meats are the main-stays of the menu, but there are specific dishes for vegetarians as well.

GREEN HILLS. Fine American dining in a charming bistro atmosphere. Enjoy live jazz in the bar while waiting for your table or after dinner – be sure to take advantage of the award-winning wine list! In the tastefully decorated dining room you may choose to dine on such delicacies as Seared Scallops with Sweet Potato and Fig Purée or Panko Fried Chicken with Braised Greens.

DOWNTOWN. The sleek interior of Germantown Cafe features dark walls, blond wood and tall windows that display Nashville's downtown to the eclectic mix of diners. Southern cuisine is at its finest with dishes like New Orleans shrimp and crab cakes. Though the cafe makes a great place for a dinner date, also try the brunch on Sundays!

DOWNTOWN. Serving American-Continental cuisine, the dark-paneled Capitol Grille is located on the lower level of the Hermitage Hotel. This downtown restaurant is a favorite among professionals and locals for business lunches and pre-theater. Breakfast is also a favorite, with offerings such as the Eggs Benedict "Commander Style;" The Nashvillian with two eggs, ham, grits, and biscuits and gravy; and the Steak and Eggs. Lunch features sandwiches such as the "Rocky Mountain" Bison Brisket BBQ and entrees like the Roasted Ashley Farms Organic Chicken. Dinner entrees include Sous Vide Bell and Evans Chicken, Ocean Trout, and Prime Strip Loin.

HILLSBORO VILLAGE. This award-winning restaurant enjoys a fine reputation among Nashville's more discriminating locals and tourists. Trendy Sunset Grill offers a casually elegant atmosphere highlighted by the artwork of Paul Harmon. The restaurant's innovative head chef serves an ever-changing menu of steak, pasta and vegetarian dishes. Be sure to start your meal off with one of their excellent seafood appetizers – the scallops are a must! Great wine list with over 50 served by-the-glass. By the way, keep your eyes peeled for your favorite country singer, because Sunset Grill is pretty high on their lists too.

MUSIC ROW. Due to its close proximity to Vanderbilt University, this contemporary restaurant enjoys the patronage of everybody from students and faculty to local business types and socialites. The international menu features such delicious entrées as lobster flapjacks, ostrich, yucca empanada and Cajun veal chops. The wine and beer lists reflect the eclecticism of the menu, both offering selections from around the world. In the warmer months, al fresco dining is available. Keep in mind, this place tends to get packed quickly, especially on the weekends.

EAST NASHVILLE. At this popular upscale eatery, diners enjoy seasonally-changing fare with French and Italian influences, such as pan-roasted halibut, fennel-ubbed poussin, and spaghetti bolognese. The cozy brick-walled dining room creates the perfect setting for a quiet, romantic dinner out. The Sunday brunch also offers to patrons a unique menu with varied dishes like smoked trout with crispy potato cake and French toast croissants with powdered sugar and warm syrup.
