Walking tours are often not only the best way to get a feel for a city but also to gain insight into its past. That certainly proves to be the case with these tours, which are organized by the Ministry of Tourism and are available by appointment only. Official guides wear blue batik vests, and are amazingly knowledgeable storytellers who will regale you with tales of the past 250 years of the country's history. There are three slightly different tours – call to see what's being offered during your visit. Tours depart from the bust of Sir Milo Butler in Rawson Square, last about 60 minutes, and go rain or shine. Enjoy a complimentary island drink at the end of the tour.
