4. Junkanoo Parade

The Buzz -- Junkanoo, a uniquely Bahamian spectacle, brings to mind the high energy, vibrant color and rhythmic sound of Mardi Gras. Although its roots are in the 17th century, Junkanoo continues to draw the community together every December 26th and January 1st for an incredible pre-dawn "rush-out" and procession down Bay Street. Bleachers are set up along Bay Street, but tickets for these premium seats sell out almost instantly (usually to VIPs and government officials). But there's an abundance of standing room, and hanging out with the regular folks at street level is more fun anyway.
